DCCC will sit this one out until after the primary. The 3rd quarter financial filings tell the tale in this race. Dan raised more money than Footlik, but that's not the full story. Jay is a decent fundraiser, but LESS than 20 donors who live in the 10th District gave money to his campaign this quarter. Dan's donors overwhelmingly reside in the district. Seals has the support and enthusiasm of the grassroots - who are already work hard on his behalf. Footlik is basically a non-presence in the district. Do you find this valuable?

We went to the open house for Dan Seals' new office off of Lake-Cook Road. Very big and energetic crowd was there. Some things of note. Dan Seals seems to be doing well in fundraising in the last quarter and into this year. Mark Kirk seems to be taking credit for addressing the school funding issue for children of the military in Highwood though Dick Durbin is the one really dealing with it. Jay Footlik is still dealing with the fallout from a flyer he sent out which tongue in cheek focussed on his Jewish roots and which didn't go over too well with some folks in the district. Not surprisingly Dan Seals' staff is pretty optimistic about his chances, particularly in the primary. Do you find this valuable?
