A Real Challenger For Tiahrt?
Aug 23 2007, 11:35 AM EDT While looking for something else on the political blog of the Wichita Eagle, I came across the item which I linked to above. Apparently, state senator Donald Betts, when confronted with a query about a congressional bid by the paper's editorial board, refused to deny such a bid was in the offing. All he offered was an expression of surprise, followed by "stay tuned." If he runs, he would be the first serious challenger to Tiahrt since Carlos Nolla held him to 54% of the vote in 2000.
