Background Information
District Map
Although Ohio's 6th Congressional district was considered reliably Republican since the 1960s, Democrat Ted Strickland won re-election after re-election in the 1990s, and the seat is now blue. After Strickland went on to be elected Governor in 2006, Democratic State Senator Charlie Wilson won his seat by a margin of more than 50,000 votes (or 61% of the vote) against Ohio House Speaker Chuck Blasdel. Blasdel may run against Wilson again in 2008.
