Jonathan Singer has an interesting analysis of Democratic prospects in the 2008 New Mexico Senate election on MyDD - http://www.mydd.com/ - November 27, 2006. Not particularly optimistic, but an exposition of the things that might change in two years, with a reminder that when the worm turns, it's best to be prepared. The only Democratic challenger he mentions is Mayor Chavez.
