Lautenberg has served his purpose. If you ever flip on C-SPAN 2, you will realize that he is ineffective when speaking on the floor. He is well respected, but starting to sound like an angry old man. I would like to see him retire and make room for some of the younger NJ congressman (Pallone, Holt, and even Andrews if he moves a bit to the left). All these men are bright and very popular in the state.

Though I haven't come right out & said it,I'd rather see Pallone, Holt or maybe even Andrews in the '08 race. I don't have a warm & fuzzy about Lautenberg. Will be interesting to see if anyone else in the Party feels the same way. Though NJ loves their incumbents.Besides, its good to have back-up choices given what we've seen happen during the 2006 elections.
