Nancy Boyda does have a tough call for re-election in this red district, but don't count her out yet. Republican State Treasurer Lynn Jenkins is already attacking former Congressman Jim Ryun (Boyda's 2006 opponent and potential challenger for 2008). If the two have a messy, costly primary, then Boyda might have the edge in terms of resources and the Republicans may have many of their weak points exposed.

Also, consider that Boyda is smart. She won in 2006 with the DCCC not really helping her campaign until the very end. She ran her campaign her own way and did a good job.

I'll look forward to seeing Nancy Boyda again.

By the way-Jim Ryun is completely crazy. One of my friends went to babysit his children (he lives in Lawrence) and Ryun's entire family gathered in a circle before Ryun left for the evening and prayed that no one got hurt because my friend wasn't a right-wing religious Christian.

He's insane.

This will be a GOP top target. This district is red, red, red. Boyda is on Arms Services and is trying to get on veterans affairs. This is smart because Fort Riley is in the district and will be receiving a large influx of new personnel in the next year or so.
