David Poythress (D-GA) & Josh Lanier (D-GA) are two new names being mentioned as candidates to Saxby Chambliss (R-GA) in 2008. Poythress would make a very strong candidate to chambliss if he were to run.

Okay, so in addition to the controversial Vernon Jones and the loony Dale Cardwell, the next Democrat to throw his hat into the ring for the right to face off against the scummy Saxby is...<a href="http://www.knightforsenate.com/">Rand Knight</a>. He's a little on the young and inexperienced side, but I'll take him over Cardwell and Jones any day of the week.
Other than that, just wake me up if Roy Barnes takes a stab at it. |

Max Cleland is not going to run. Time and again he has stated that he is through running for public office and we should take him at his word. Too bad too as he was an excellent Senator, especially by Georgia standards.

I heard rumors that the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee are trying to recruit Sanford Bishop (D) Albany, Jim Butler (D) Columbus, Michael Thurmond (D) Athens, & possibly State Senator Robert Brown (D) Macon. These are terrific candidates to challenge Saxby Chambliss & bring the seat back to the Georgia Democrats.
