General information
Although Delaware is often considered a solid "blue" state, Democratic governor Ruth Ann Minner garnered only 50% (beating Republican challenger William Swain Lee with 45%) of her re-election campaign in 2004. Minner will retire in 2008, because of a term-limit. Two Democrats and one Republican are expected to seek her seat; Lieutenant Governor John C. Carney Jr (D), State Treasurer Jack Markell (D), and State Senator Charlie Copeland (R).Resources
