In 2010, Freshman Congressman Jim Himes might face a tough battle from the GOP. Here are the GOP candidates that could challenge him:
1. State Senator McKinney of Fairfield (son of Shays predecessor) 2. Lt. Gov. Michael Fedele of Stamford 3. Former First Selectman of Greenwich Jim Lash 4. New Canaan Selectwoman Judy Neville 5. State Senator William Nickerson of Greenwich 6. State Senator Judith Freeman of Westport 7. State Representative Toni Boucher of Wilton 8. State Representative Livvy Floren of Greenwich 9. State Representative Lile Gibbons of Greenwich 10. Former Congressman Chris Shays 11. State Senator Scott Frantz of Greenwich 12. Norwalk mayor Richard Moccia 13. Stamford Board of Finance member Joseph Tarzia 14 State Representative Claudia Powers of Greenwich 15. House Republican Leader Larry Cafero of Norwalk 16. State Budget Director Robert Genuario of Norwalk Do you have any other suggestions or thoughts on my list? |

I'm a democrat and I agree with the previous thread that we need all of our seats occupied by Democrats, but we will have to tolerate Shays a bit longer. Personally, I just don't feel comfortable voting for himes knowing all of the connections he has with Goldman Sachs. It would be naive to think those ties and campaign contributions (over 100,000) won't affect his voting. That isn't what our party is about. Jim Himes is a corporate puppet guised as a Democrat. I'm very upset he won the primary.

Does Ned Lamont live in this district, by any chance?
If he does, shouldn't you guys in CT be trying to convince him to run against Shays? Just a thought. |
