Former State Sen. Jack Jackson would be an ideal choice. He was running early on last cycle and was supposed to pose a threat to Renzi, but dropped out. We need recruit him this time around. I truly believe Renzi, with his hard-right and apparent ethical problems, is one of the most endangered Republican house incumbents. He can be beat. Remember, Simon barely had any national support and came relatively close.

Jackson dropped out because he couldn't raise the money it would take to win this seat...that hasn't changed. Also, just because he is Native American does not mean he is a shoe-in - the Native American turnout in CD1 is low and is definitely not enough to outnumber the traditionally conservative voters in Yavapai, Pinal, Gila and other rural counties.
